Clinical relevant factors such as age, gender, tumor staging can affect the distant metastasis and prognosis of NPC. Molecular markers of NPC distant metastasis include EB virus DNA, p53, epidermal growth factor receptor and vascular endothelial growth factor, which are expected to become the biological indicators of NPC prognosis. In addition, the pathological classification and the treatment means are also the affecting factors for NPC prognosis.
